There are so many pictures and discriptions in this book that it takes a long time to get through it. It is pretty well laid out and very interesting. But it takes time to go through this book and if you feel like rushing then this book is not for you, because it can take about a month of reading and studying the paintings and pictures to get the true benefit and experience the wonder of this book.

大きな影響を与えたヘルメス主義と錬金術の関係を知る必要が
あり、その点、本書から多くの示唆を得ました。

膨大で非常に有用な錬金術関係の図のカタログ　　（2003-02-13）
この本は、中世から現代に至るまでの錬金術やその周辺の神秘主義に関する図がテーマ毎に集められ、それに関して簡単な解説がなされている。その図は、数百の膨大な量であり、１ページについて１、２点でカラーで収められている為に図中の細かい文字なども読むことが出来る。解説も長々としたものではなく、図の横に小さく簡潔に書いてあって良い。
　私が今まで読んだ錬金術の入門書の類では図の数に限りがあり、その象徴体系の奥深さが余り理解できなかったが、これだけの多くの図を見ることで、直接的にそれが少し分かるようなったと思う。
　この本は錬金術を研究している人にとっては非常に有用な図のカタログになるであろうし、その筋でない人も、象徴に満ちており、見ているだけでもとても面白ち?㡊!??のであるので、是非とも買って読んでもらいたいと思う。
