   往年の名作マンガ「サブマリン707」で有名な小澤さとるの同名マンガを原作としたOVA。本作最大の見どころは、3DCGで製作された部分の描写。水飛沫や爆発シーン、メカや背景など、そのリアルな映像はアニメーションであることを忘れてしまうほど。本作はこれらのアニメーション技術を徹底して見せる大サービスの第1話。陸地の大半が海中に没してしまった世界を守るため、潜水戦闘艇「青の6号」乗組員たちがゾーンダイクに敢然と立ち向かう。
   なぜ世界は海の底に沈んだのか？　ゾーンダイクとは、そして明らかに人間ではない敵の正体は一体何なのか？　数々の謎を提示しつつ猛スピードで展開する息をもつかせぬプロローグには引き込まれずにいられない。（田中 元）

Blue Number 6 is unique amoung anime because of the extensive amount of CG used with traditional cel animation. It results in a fantastic anime that is packed with action and fun to watch. Blue 6's soundtrack is real jazzy and bass heavy; It is phenominal to listen to by itself. If you have an audio system capable of decoding DTS get this DVD! DTS audio is much better than Dolby Digital; it is much more natural sounding.
